It shouldn't be hard to be a child.

But far too often in the the world, it is.

One billion children live in poverty in the world

134 million children (mostly girls) are denied even the most basic education

246 million children work, with 171 million involved in extreme forms of child labor

265 million children have not been immunized against any disease at all

15 million children are orphaned by the AIDS epidemic

And experts estimate that 1 billion more children will be born the next 10 years, and that 90% of them will live on less than $1.00 a day
